Thank you for this very detailed article. Have a few questions regarding re-potting my indoor and very overgrown 25 yr. old plant. Don't know if my agapanthus is e.g. or deciduous.
1. From 1 pot I cut 3 giant roots into 2 pieces each. Removed dead thread like roots as well as the dead parts of the giant roots. Sorry do not know correct names. They were terribly overgrown, can I cut back some of these giant split roots after cutting off the dead parts and if so by how much for a 2nd. plant?
2. Some roots had grown horizontally in the original pot, the only way to replant them for the stem to grow vertically is for the roots to be horizontal in the new pot. Will roots eventually grow vertically? If not what should I do? Replanted in Nov. zone 6. So far they are looking good.
Am an amateur at this and would most appreciate any help you could give me. Just found your website today and love it. Many thanks.
